Tribute at the Glen’s New Management Team – Local Leaders with Care and Compassion at Their Core

Deep Roots in the Community and 70 Years Combined Experience

The Tribute at the Glen is thrilled to announce their new management team, who have deep roots in the community and Northern Virginia and a combined 70 years of experience in senior living. They are long-time residents of Northern Virginia, love living in the region, value the communities they live in, and bring that experience to the residents of the Tribute at the Glen, making residents feel more at home. Together with their collective experience in senior living management, they know how important a happy, thriving, supportive community is in the care of seniors, especially for those experiencing memory issues.

Executive Director Martin Brown lives in Sterling, VA and has called Northern Virginia home for more than 20 years, which helps residents feel more at ease with him. “There is a special bond we share with our residents when we can talk about mutual places we’ve been, churches we’ve attended, and shared life experiences in this community,” says Martin. An avid fitness enthusiast and cyclist, Martin enjoys cycling on area trails, and you might even catch him riding the 35 miles to work on occasion!

For Martin, the residents he serves are his family. He treats them with the same warmth, compassion and respect he shows his own family, and the residents he works with feel that. He understands how important it is to have good communication with residents and their loved ones, as well as his team members and staff. His approach to senior care has served him well in the decade he has worked in the industry, where he has served in many capacities, and helped thousands of residents and families navigate gracefully through the various stages of life.

Martin feels blessed to serve in the role of executive director at Tribute at the Glen, one of the most beautiful senior communities he’s ever seen. He looks forward to working alongside the greatness of such a giving care team.

Resident Services Director Patricia Bessie has enjoyed many aspects of living in Northern Virginia since moving here in 2007. Pat appreciates the many opportunities there are to learn and grow in health care; living in close proximity to the region’s museums, historical sites and live entertainment; and her favorite pastime, being able to travel to New York to shop and sightsee.

Pat is a strong believer in supporting staff education. She feels that when senior living staff are educated, they can provide residents with a better quality of life, and she walks that walk herself. Pat is a registered nurse and registered assisted living administrator, and has completed the specialized Validation Training program which helps support residents, families and team members in assisting those with memory impairment.

Pat has worked in senior living for more than 30 years, including long-term care, residency programs for new physicians, home health, and assisted living. Her love, passion, and commitment to seniors is what brought her to Tribute at the Glen.

We also have two new community relations directors. Kathleen Moxley and Sara Gentry are both Northern Virginia natives, and have a passion for creating a warm, comfortable environment for their residents.

Kathleen Moxley grew up in Centreville and is now the “mom of boys,” raising two sons with her husband. Her family is very important to her. Though grown now, her sons still live locally and remain a big part of her life. She also enjoys crafting and sewing. You can find many of her finished pieces on display at local craft fairs and wine festivals.

In 2013, Kathleen transitioned out of a 10-year career in restaurant operations into senior living. She quickly discovered that working with and helping seniors and their families was a calling for her. Kathleen has experience working in assisted living and as a home care liaison.

Kathleen considers it a joy and an honor to be able to spend time with the residents and their families.

Sara Gentry is a Woodbridge native who graduated from Gar-Field Senior High School and then went on to James Madison University to receive a bachelor’s degree in public health. The proud mother of two teenage sons and a dog named Bentley, Sara now lives in Dumfries. Sara enjoys spending time with family, being out in nature at local parks, volunteering and traveling.

Sara found her true love in advocating for and working with seniors, with a strong understanding of the continuum of care for our senior population. With more than 20 years of experience in social services for skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and sales and marketing for home health, home care, and hospice, Sara’s passion is guiding seniors and their families through their journey.

Tribute at the Glen’s management company, Cadence Living, is proud to have a management team that has deep roots and pride in the Northern Virginia community, and will be able to lead with a wealth of knowledge in the senior living industry and a shared passion for creating a caring environment for seniors and their families.
