Patience. Ambition. Grit. Passion.

Youth can learn, immeasurably, from the generations that came before them. And the reverse is also true.

Senior Stories, an intergenerational fairy tale writing project born from a partnership between Cadence Living and Phoenix Country Day School, aims to leverage learning while creating priceless connections — particularly welcome in an era of challenging social isolation.

Seniors have stories to tell, and students have the time and creativity to tell them. It is through this storytelling initiative, which began in Arizona and has since opened to a national audience, that seniors are finding emotionally valuable connections by sharing their life stories with a new generation.

Senior Stories encourages students across the country to partner with seniors, learn their stories and find engaging ways to tell them to others — honing valuable life skills such as listening, empathy and appreciating the endless benefits of human connection. In this challenging time when both children and seniors are isolated in their homes, Senior Stories brings connection and socialization to both age groups that yearn for social interaction.

Senior Stories bridges both generations and social distancing while bringing the gift of connection from home to community.
